Visit Helix Park where we get the chance to see and walk into the Kelpies. City tour of Glasgow with a stop at Glasgow Cathedral.

Thru,  May 21st

Stop at Luss, a quaint village on the banks of Loch Lomond. Visit Glencoe where the massacre of the McDonalds occurred.

Fri, May 22nd    

Stop at Fort George, a large Garrison built in a star shape. Visit the Culloden Battlefield where the last land battle on British soil took place. Visit Clava Cairns burial mounds/standing stones.

Sat, May 23rd

Stop at the Falls of Shin Dolman. Tour of Dunrobin Castle at Golspie. Tour the Clynelish Distillery. Stop at Dornoch, a quaint Highland town with interesting shops and a beautiful Cathedral.

Sun, May 24th

Visit Speyside Cooperage where we see how whisky barrels are refurbished. Visit to the Strathisla Distillery. Stop at Portknockie, where we walk along the cliff edges to get some great photos of Bow Fiddle Rock. Stop at the seaside village of Pennan.

Mon, May 25rd

Visit Fraserburgh and its Lighthouse Museum. Stop at Peterhead to tour the once infamous Peterhead Prison. Tour Fyvie Castle a very haunted castle

Tues, May 26th

Visit the stunning ruins of Dunottar Castle. Tour (private) the Glamis Castle

Wed, May 27rd

Free day to explore St Andrew’s; see the beach where the Chariots of Fire was filmed, visit the Ruins of St Andrew’s Cathedral and Castle

Thru, May 28rd

Drive out to Leith to visit the Royal Yacht Brittania. Visit the Rosslyn Chapel,

Fri, May 29rd

 Free day to explore the city of Edinburgh

Friday, May 8th

We have morning transfers from Edinburgh airport to your hotel for the next two nights.  Afternoon free with a hop on/hop off bus ticket for two days.  Time to explore the Castle, many free museums, Princes Street Gardens and all that this exciting capitol city has to offer.  (Entry fees not inc. Hop On/Hop Off ticket inc.) Overnight Edinburgh.   Welcome Social Inc. (S)


Saturday, May 9th

Free day to explore the city with your hop on/hop off bus pass, take a ride out to Leith to visit the Royal Yacht Brittania and Ocean Terminal, or take a day trip south to Rosslyn Chapel,(not inc.) or just spend your day exploring more of Edinburgh.  Overnight Edinburgh. (B)


Sunday, May 10th

This morning after breakfast, we head north out of Edinburgh over the New Forth Road Bridge which was opened by the Queen in late 2018, and head into the Kingdom of Fife where we pass some beautiful scenery. We head north to Glamis Castle, where the Late Queen Mother (Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon) was born and raised and have a private guided tour of this very haunted Castle, by one of their knowledgeable guides.  We have a private lunch in the Castle’s fabulous Dining Room, where many dignitaries have dined over the years. After our visit to the gardens and quaint shop  we head  to our hotel for the evening in the Cairngorms.  Overnight Aviemore area.  (BL)


Monday, May 11th

We head west today to Culloden Battlefield, where the last land battle on British soil took place in 1746, where Bonnie Prince Charlie tried to retake the throne of Scotland.  We learn the story of the battle in the Visitor Centre and have the opportunity to walk on part of the field.  We then make a short stop at Clava cairns which are burial mounds and standing stones, the standing stones that were the inspiration for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series.  We have some free time in Inverness city where you can have lunch in one of the many pubs or restaurants (not Inc.) before we continue on to Ardersier where we stop for a visit to Fort George, a large Garrison built in a star shape, after the Battle of Culloden.  The current Fortress has never been attacked and is home to the 3rd Battalion Black Watch.  We tour this amazing fortress before we head back to our hotel near Aviemore.  (B)


Tuesday, May 12th

After our Good Scottish breakfast, we start our day at Speyside Cooperage where we see how whisky barrels are refurbished for further use and learn about the history of the Cooperage.  Afterwards we head to one of the many Speyside Distilleries for a tour and a wee dram.  We continue on to Portknockie on the Dolphin Coast, where we have a walk along the cliff edges to get some great photos of Bow Fiddle Rock, which is said to look like the Bow of a Fiddle. Our next stop is at the seaside village of Pennan, where the film Local Hero was filmed, the story of which is now being turned into a Play.  We head to our hotel for the evening, a hunting lodge in Aberdeenshire.  (B)


Wednesday, May 13th

After breakfast we first head north to visit Fraserburgh and the Lighthouse Museum and hear about the importance of Lighthouses around Scotland and how they are mainly phased out now, before we head to Peterhead to tour the once infamous Peterhead Prison that held the worst criminals in Scottish history for decades.  After time for lunch (on your own) we head south to Fyvie Castle for a tour of this very haunted castle, one of the prettiest in Scotland in a Zplan style.  Return to our hunting lodge. Overnight Aberdeenshire. (B)


Thursday, May 14th

Today we start heading south towards Stonehaven, where we have an opportunity to visit the stunning ruins of Dunottar Castle, sitting high out on a rock in the North Sea.  We explore this ruins and then we continue down the coast road to Dundee where we have a free afternoon to visit the new Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) newly opened in late 2018, the historical tall ships & many other wonderful visitor attractions in this revitalized city. (entry to VA inc.) Overnight Dundee (BD) (Final Night dinner)


Friday, May 15th

After breakfast, we tour around in the morning to further explore the city before we head to the cruise port for your exciting cruise to the Northern Scottish Islands.
